SMARTADAWUL is a real time transactional platform based on Blockchain technology. This financial and commercial platform is mainly dedicated to banks to facilitate transacting of a real commodities (serving as a commodity market) and to act as a liquidity management (ALM) staging.

The motivation behind the SMARTADAWUL is to solve the liquidity management and its related issues and challenges that Islamic Banks encounter by facilitating the Murabahah transaction to its clients (Corporate & Retail) and to solve the inter-banking issues between conventional and Islamic banks.

The SMARTADAWUL platform enables both conventional and Islamic banks’ clients to get cash (liquidity) through a real and non-fictitious commercial transaction between a supplier and a wholesale.

In the SMARTADAWUL platform, all parties are connected through an online structure to finalize the commodity exchange operation. The automation of the online platform reduces the overall execution time for the Murabahah transactions with a lower cost and consequently attract more clients to the platform instead of using the traditional paper-based Murabahah transactions. The adoption of Blockchain technology will address the issues and challenges related to transparency and traceability of the financial transactions.
